How does it work?
Untangled OT supports schools across Manchester and the North West through Service Level Agreements (SLAs), giving your setting consistent, embedded access to occupational therapy expertise throughout the year.
Rather than one-off referrals, an SLA means Untangled OT becomes part of your school's ongoing support offer, working alongside SENCos, teaching staff, and families to help pupils thrive in the classroom environment.
What does an SLA include?
Each Service Level Agreement is tailored to your school's needs and can draw on any combination of the following services.
Sensory and Motor Skill Assessments
Individual pupil assessments identifying sensory processing differences and motor skill difficulties that may be affecting a child's ability to engage, regulate, or participate in the classroom. Using standardised, evidence-based tools, these assessments produce clear, actionable reports with practical recommendations that teaching staff can implement straight away.
Ongoing Treatment and Support
For pupils identified as needing more than assessment and advice, Untangled OT can provide ongoing, individualised treatment within school. This might mean regular 1:1 or small group sessions building specific skills, or continued review and adjustment of a support plan as a child's needs change over time, ensuring recommendations translate into lasting progress rather than a single report.
Environmental Recommendations
A walk-through assessment of classrooms, shared spaces, and the wider school environment, identifying sensory and physical barriers to learning and participation. This includes practical, low-cost recommendations for adjustments, from seating and lighting to quiet spaces and transition routines.
SENCO Consultation & Support
Ongoing, collaborative support for your SENCo, including case consultation, advice on individual pupils, help interpreting external reports, and a direct line to OT expertise when navigating complex needs. This works well alongside formal assessments or as standalone termly support.
Whole-School Training
PCPD sessions for teaching and support staff covering sensory processing, motor development, and practical regulation strategies. Training is pitched to your staff team's existing knowledge and tailored to the pupils you're currently supporting, building lasting capacity within the school rather than one-off, disconnected input.
